The Timeless Gift of Transformation

by Elizabeth Garciano, OLCGS

Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd

Cohort 10 Graduate of CLDP

The Collaborative Leadership Development Program (CLDP) presents a comprehensive framework that integrates both human and spiritual dimensions. This holistic methodology has enhanced my understanding of, and ability to confront, unconscious conflicts that I had previously overlooked. Through these experiences, I have attained deeper insights, fostering the integration of new elements into my personal profile. Upon reviewing my Leadership Circle Profile, I have come to realize that the cycle requires a significant commitment in order to achieve the ultimate goals in a fulfilling manner.

I acknowledge that embodying gospel values while engaging in communication characterized by integrity, authenticity, openness, and honesty presents an ongoing challenge. Nevertheless, I remain dedicated to the process of personal transformation embodied in the CLDP program. The daily struggles of life prompt me to be vigilant regarding the influence of both positive and negative forces within myself. I recognize that I am accompanied by my guardian angel, who protects and guides me from harmful inclinations that may penetrate my soul and heart, leading to inner conflicts. This awareness fosters a deeper commitment to my values and the pursuit of a virtuous life. I must engage in spiritual warfare, acknowledging the role of angels who defend me against malevolent forces. Their presence serves as reassurance, providing comfort during times of difficulty and trial.

The interculturality of CLDP empowers us to invest in and cultivate meaningful relationships, leading to a profound transformation in our understanding of thought and communication. Taking risks in cross-cultural interactions involves evaluating potential outcomes and consequences. While some approaches may not suit everyone, demonstrating respect is crucial for building healthier relationships. Embracing this mindset has significantly boosted my confidence and sharpened my awareness of how I engage with others, enabling me to approach interactions with a strong, open mind.

Psalm 23 "The Lord is my Shepherd" highlights the significance of self-leadership and effective guidance of others. Embracing this idea, I understand my role as a servant to myself, steering and navigating my daily decisions. I must first learn to nurture my own heart before I can lead others in following Jesus, the Good Shepherd. In the midst of significant changes, I believe that spiritual leadership is vital, deeply rooted in a relationship with God and open to the fullness of life that allows others to recognize God’s presence in their journey. The development of an open and loving heart is critical and fundamental to our commitment to leadership.

CLDP stands as a timeless gift, guiding me toward wholeness in my life. It has provided new connections and expanded my network. I have cultivated inner change, and acquired invaluable skills and the courage to embrace my true self. I have grown to appreciate the beauty of transformation, which nurtures healthy, enriching relationships.

This program holds significant potential to cultivate the skills of emerging leaders, particularly those eager to foster positive change in society. It is essential for women of faith to actively seek out opportunities for both personal and professional development while embracing the challenges that come with leadership roles amidst an uncertain future. By doing so,  women of faith can make a profound impact on our global community.
