Grounded in faith, authenticity, adaptability, and love

My participation in Cohort 10 of the Collaborative Leadership Development Program (CLDP) was a deeply enriching and transformative experience. The program was marked by a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and shared purpose, strengthened through the guidance of committed presenters, coaches, mentors, and small groups. In this collaborative environment, meaningful relationships were formed with and between sisters and charism carriers, allowing for a broader and more global understanding of religious life and how it continues to evolve in today’s context.

A central focus of the program was an exploration of what it means to be a transformational leader in the present era. Participants were invited to develop awareness of the Euro‑centric leadership models that have historically shaped leadership practices and perspectives, and to critically examine how these models influenced our own styles of leadership. This reflection led to a clear call to deconstruct outdated approaches and assumptions and to create ‘new wineskins for new wine,’ enabling leadership that is more inclusive, responsive, and aligned with contemporary realities.

One of the most impactful aspects of the program for me was the Leadership Circle Profile, which served as an eye‑opening tool for self‑reflection and growth. The assessment helped identify both my strengths and areas where continued growth is needed as a leader. It highlighted the call to lean more intentionally into creativity, while also emphasizing the importance of emotional intelligence and self‑awareness in leadership interactions. These insights encouraged deeper intentionality in how my leadership style is exercised in relationship with others.

The program reinforced the reality that we are living in a time of significant transition and change. Within this context, as a leader, I am called to reflect God’s love, to recognize and call forth the God‑given gifts in others, and to lead in a spirit of service. CLDP emphasized the importance of listening and dialogue in a synodal way, grounded in collaboration rather than hierarchy. Participants were invited to practice self‑emptying leadership that seeks to discern the movement of the Holy Spirit, also to remain adaptive and responsive to emerging needs.

Ultimately, CLDP Cohort 10 challenged me to embrace God’s desires for my life and to move more fully towards my authentic self. The experience fostered a deeper sense of gratitude to God for the opportunity to participate in the program, as well as appreciation for all those who made this formative journey possible. The Collaborative Leadership Development Program stands as a meaningful milestone, shaping leaders who are grounded in faith, authenticity, adaptability, and love, and who are equipped to lead with hope into the future.
