As anticipation grows for HOPE 2027 in Nairobi January 12 - 17, we have created intentional spaces to journey together as we reflect, dialogue, and share wisdom.
The Sisters Under 65 Virtual Gatherings (June and September) and the Virtual Gathering for All Sisters (December) invite women religious into three conversations rooted in synodality, Ubuntu, and hope. Each gathering helps us deepen our sense of connection and purpose as a Global Sisterhood.
Even if you do not plan to attend HOPE 2027, we want you to be a part of the conversation!
Register for one or all the gatherings.
The events are free, but registration is required.
As we prepare for HOPE 2027, may these conversations strengthen our community and open new possibilities for who we are called to be—together.
A Beginning with Synodality (for Sisters under 65)
Our June gathering, “The Transformational Power of Synodality,” features a focused conversation on the transformative power of the synodal process and how it can shape our journey toward HOPE 2027. Building on the experience of HOPE 2025, we will reflect on how synodality—through deep listening, shared discernment, and table conversations—can foster meaningful transformation.
As transformation is central to the HOPE theme, this conversation will help prepare us to engage more intentionally in synodal interactions with one another at HOPE 2027 and in the years beyond.
Sister Justine Naluggya, IHMR, a canon lawyer and Assistant Secretary General for the Association of Religious in Uganda (ARU), will join us for the June 16 program, 7-8:30 pm CT (Chicago).
Sister Nathalie Becquart, XMCJ, undersecretary of the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican and a member of the Dicastery for Communication, will be part of the conversation on June 17, 9 – 10:30 am CT (Chicago).
A Deepening into Wholeness and Ubuntu: I Am Because We Are (for Sisters under 65)
In September, we turn toward the wisdom of Ubuntu, a vision of life rooted in relationship, interdependence, and shared humanity.
Guided by South African scholar Rutendo Ngara, this gathering invites us to rediscover wholeness through connection. Ubuntu reminds us that our identity is not isolated but shaped through one another—an essential insight as we prepare for a global gathering grounded in belonging.

A Sending in Hope (open to all sisters of any age)
Our journey continues in December with “We Are Because They Were: A Sending in Hope.”
This virtual gathering a month before HOPE 2027, will serve as a reflective sending, honoring the sister ancestors who have shaped our journey and continue to inspire us.
Participants are invited to bring the presence of a sister ancestor as we deepen our sense of belonging within a living tradition. Small- and large-group conversations, including both peer and intergenerational dialogue, will create space to celebrate our shared identity and discern how we are called forward together—grounded in gratitude, united in community, and sent in hope.
