Let us be grateful

by Elia Cardenas, D.Min, Associate Director

Our daily experiences bring new meaning to things and allow us to connect more deeply with the Spirit of God and everything. That connection allows us to move from a simple “thank you” to praise for the goodness we received, even for those things that, at the time, seemed absurd or less important. Sometimes gratitude does not come when life passes us by and challenges arise. Nevertheless, this season invites us to reflect and not get carried away by all the noise, but to reflect in our hearts on why we are grateful.

Be grateful for everything and everyone: birthdays, events, milestones, accomplishments, celebrations, farewells, trips, encounters, the departure of loved ones, the arrival of new family members, new relationships, studies, career successes, growth, decisions, failures, and many personal situations that we can add to the list.

So let us open ourselves once again to the novelty of gratitude, to reflect, to be still, and to allow ourselves to be embraced by the tenderness of God, the fountain of love, who brings hope to those around us through the practice of gratitude.

As we celebrate the overflowing love of God, let us give thanks for all that we have and all that we are!
