In the fragility of our times, Advent is a beautiful season of active hope: it is not simply about waiting with our arms crossed; rather, it involves moving and preparing ourselves for what it is to come with an open heart and willing hands. Preparing for the coming of the Lord is very similar to preparing for an important event. It requires perseverance and dedication to create a space where God can become incarnate and be born into our lives.
We are called to share hope, with words and actions that make God's goodness present in our world. In doing so, we become agents of hope wherever we go. With that in mind, I invite you to reflect: What can I do to share hope with our wounded world? What can I do to share hope in my surroundings?
May our hope be sustained as we prepare to receive the love and fragility of Emmanuel, God with us, who supports even our smallest efforts.
