Missionaries of the Assumption
I am Sr. Nimfa Ann Bana, m.a., a 64-year-old from Davao City, Philippines. This year marks my 40th anniversary as a consecrated person. Our congregation is dedicated to helping those in poverty, including Indigenous and Muslim communities. Despite facing red-tagging for our advocacy, we continue to support marginalized people.
Over the past 40 years, I have been blessed with various apostolic experiences, including formation, pastoral work, finance, foreign missions, and school apostolates. I am also a member of SAMIN (Sisters Association in Mindanao), which has united sisters from different congregations in Mindanao for over 42 years. This association provides a platform for formation, sharing experiences, and addressing community needs during disasters and periods of militarization, as we strive to fulfill our prophetic mission.
Currently, I am based in Davao City, working at a school after serving in the Solomon Islands, where I coordinated the Mission Assist program in the Archdiocese of Honiara and worked directly in the parish.
Attending HOPE 2025 will broaden my perspective, allowing me to learn from diverse success stories and challenges and witness how God is present with us, walking with us, even in these times of fake news, conflict, and division. This experience will strengthen my resolve to continue working with the poor amidst trials and difficulties with my community and the people we serve.
Please join us in prayer as sisters under 65 from around the world prepare for HOPE 2025. Click here for "A Prayer for HOPE 2025."
