Bridges of Hope

In Pope Leo XIV's first message to the world, he said, with gratitude to the late Pope Francis:  

So, let us move forward, without fear, together, hand in hand with God and with one another other!  We are followers of Christ. Christ goes before us. The world needs his light. Humanity needs him as the bridge that can lead us to God and his love. Help us, one and all, to build bridges through dialogue and encounter, joining together as one people, always at peace. 

As we contemplate these words of our new pope, we also consider the words of Leaders of Hope contributor Navya Neelam, CSJ in her reflection "Be a Bridge:"  

...we are not here just to create lasting bridges of hope but TO BE THE BRIDGE... By being the bridge, I don’t just connect others to resources or faith, but live as a ‘live’ link to God and the community, offering myself as a channel for peace, compassion, and spiritual support.
