Interculturality and Intercongregationality in Religious Life
Findings and Recommendations from a Colloquia Series on Best Practices
A collaborative project of AHLMA, LC, and RFC
with support from the GHR Foundation
“Interculturality and Intercongregationality in Religious Life: Findings and Recommendations from a Colloquia Series on Best Practices” is a roadmap and a resource for congregations looking to thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. As we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life on Feb. 2, we invite all women and men religious to read and reflect on these actionable insights and best practices for strengthening unity, equity, and mutual enrichment in religious life.
This report is the result of a collaborative project undertaken by the Asociación de Hermanas Latinas Misioneras en America (AHLMA), Leadership Collaborative (LC) and the Religious Formation Conference (RFC). Supported by a grant from the GHR Foundation, the two-year colloquia series gathered newer members, elected leaders, and formation directors to explore the essential practices of intercultural living and intercongregational collaboration.
The findings emphasize the transformative potential of shared storytelling, leadership development, and a commitment to fostering authentic relationships across cultures and congregations. These learnings equip congregations with the tools needed to build inclusive communities, deepen ministry impact, and witness the Gospel in new and dynamic ways.
